passion of life

i didn't go to school today cos i am sick! i was already not feeling well after the concert. oh wells...by the way, crescent band had its feb concert yesterday. Quintessence 2007. really thank those who attended. had some really pleasant surprises. shawn was there too!!

band people ended lessons at 11.15am. then, we had our lunch and prepared to go to SCH for rehearsals. everyone exchanged well-wished presents. all of us were hoping for the best today.

fortunately, the seats were filled up at least half the concert hall. many came. some didn't. we had some hiccups here and there. i feel that da pacem domine, shrek 2, disney spectacular and the encore pieces were the best of all. ***** overshot the time. everyone was already complaining about this. some had already left the concert hall. anyway, we managed to birng back all the crowds. shrek was was very well-recieved and i almost 'cannot make it' for the last loud roll. my face was red at the end of it. friends said that i look extremely small with the four timpanis.

ohh!! i received a lovely pink rose from jing huai and ferraro rocher from senior wan teng. thanks!! they were unexpected. wanteng wrote on the card "xinliang! 辛苦你了！" it's so heart-warming.

and and and....shann wrote me a love letter in the morning!! [sounds wrong..lol] it's so encouraging! thanks shann!!
"欢送我们离开这绚丽的舞台的将会是一阵阵如雷贯耳的掌声，为我们４年来的心血画下美丽的休止符。" how nice is this!! really, come to think of it, it was the sec 4s last concert. no matter how good we played during the concert or how crazy we were behind stage, we aren't able to let time stop forever. life still has to go on. it's really heartening to see the whole band being so united. we swayed with the music for High School Musical, we consoled one another, we played hard on each other too. band practices and concerts really show me that the band spirit is there. years later, perhaps i will not be able to remember a single thing in my secondary school life but i will certainly remember the wonderful, glamourous days in band. it had taught me a lot of things; from being a senior ah ma, calling ms ****** junior ah ma to sharing weeping moments with shann,liwei and percussion.

percussion!! we did it!! though the perc ensemble rehearsals were better than the actual performance, i am really glad we pulled through the whole section. thanks diana for the wonderful lame 'open and close', 'what's the latest fashion in france' and 'coffee or tea' questions. they certainly bring us lots of joy.
